Friday evening the Grantsville Cowboys football squad got back into the win column following a close 28-20 victory against the Manti Templars on the road.
After the Cowboys got on the board early and taking a 7-0 lead in the game’s first two minutes, both teams traded touchdowns to give Grantsville the lead 14-6 by the end of the first quarter.
Both teams remained scoreless in the second, despite a late push by Grantsville in the final moments of the half. Manti kept the Cowboys out of the endzone with a goal-line stand to keep the score at 14-6 at halftime.
In a repeat of the first quarter scoring totals, Grantsville once again outscored the Templars 14-6 to bring the lead to 18-12 by the end of the third. Manti made one last push in the fourth quarter with touchdown, cutting the lead to eight points, but the Cowboys prevented the Templars from scoring any further and held on to win 28-20.
