Craig Grant Nelsen was born Sept.  22, 1964, to Byron D. Nelsen and Diane Christensen Nelsen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He left this world July 19, 2024, of natural causes. Our hearts were broken when Craig passed away at his home in Pueblo, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father Byron. This tall, handsome man; son, brother, father and grandfather was too quickly gone.

He is remembered as a quiet man, wearing a baseball cap whenever possible, who was crazy about his sons Tyler Nelsen and Kyle Nelsen (Natasia); and grandboys Taren, Karston and Jace; his brother Mark Nelsen (Shanna); and mother Diane Nelsen. He was also very fond of his niece and nephew, cousins and special friends David and Malinda Baker as well as others too many to name.

Craig had recently retired from a long career as a safety occupational and health specialist, at Deseret Chemical Depot, Tooele, Utah, and Pueblo Chemical Depot at Pueblo, Colorado. He loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had raised several beloved cats and adored his granddog Copper. He was also an excellent cook. He could make competition level chili verde which was greatly enjoyed at family gatherings. Craig was a sweet soul, gentle and kind and always willing to help wherever needed. He had a great laugh and was a Dolphins fan from all the way back to grade school. He also loved watching Utah sports teams. Put that together with a cold beer and he was good to go. He will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten.
