Tooele County Arts Guild members have successfully planned their annual “Ren Faire” event and are ready to offer unique and Renaissance-themed entertainment, vendors, and food to the community this weekend.
Ren Faire will take place at the Benson Grist Mill, located at 325 Pole Canyon Road in Stansbury Park, on Friday, September 20 from 1-8 p.m. and Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There will be 73 vendors at the event who will be selling fine art, jewelry, Renaissance-themed items, swords, 3D-printed items, and handcrafted items. Food vendors will include a snack shack, a grill, lemonade and popcorn, and artisan breads, among other food options.
Entertainment at the event will include a kids’ art yard, the Tooele Valley Theatre, a Tooele County Arts Guild art show, live music, blacksmith demonstrations, moving history encampments, siege works, a petting zoo and pony rides, knights demonstrating combat, ax throwing, educational demonstrations, a story time put on by the Tooele City Library, and a fire show.
The knights will perform on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 5 p.m.; the library’s story time will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday; and the fire show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Visitors can also expect to see mermaids, pirates, a bard, fairies, a bagpiper, and Queen Elizabeth and King Henry.
“If you want a really magical experience, stop by the faire,” said Katrina Flores, Ren Faire’s event coordinator. “You will see a lot of things at this event that you probably haven’t seen at any of the other events throughout the year… We hope people will come and have a really good time, but also go home having an educational experience.”
Arts Guild members are in need of volunteers at the event. Those interested should visit tooeleartsguild.com to sign up. The link to volunteer is located on the home page. Those interested in volunteering should be 16 or older. Those under 18 will need to have permission from a parent and a waiver signed.

For those ages 8-16, tickets are $6, and tickets for those ages 16 and older are $8.
