Members of the Tooele Moose Lodge, along with fellow lodge members from the Idaho/Utah Area Moose, gathered at the Tooele County School District’s Student Services Center on Vine Street in Tooele City to package food they gathered into meals to keep students from going hungry on weekends.
“Some students rely on school meals for breakfast and lunch during school days,” said Russ Stapelton, president of the Tooele Moose Lodge. “But at home on the weekends they may not have food for meals.”
To help those hungry students, Moose Lodge members gathered packaged food items and then put together weekend meal kits for students.
Each meal package is intended for one student. The package contains two hot meal items, two breakfast items, two fruit items, and an assortment of snacks.
The Moose Lodge members gathered at the TCSD Students Services Center on Sept. 20 and assembled 250 food packages.
