Todd Thompson, Julia Holt, Randy Quarez, ValaRee Shields

With four open seats on the Tooele County School Board, two went to incumbents running unopposed—Robert Gowans from District #1 and Scott Bryan from District #4.

In District #2, Todd Thompson holds the lead in the preliminary vote over long-time incumbent Julia Holt, 51.7% to 48.3%. Thompson is an 18-year resident of Tooele who holds an MBA degree from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and works as a quality and continuous improvement leader.

In the race for School Board District #2, incumbent ValaRee Shields, who has completed her first term on the school board, is holding onto her seat over her challenger, former Tooele County teacher and coach Randy Quarez, 60.1% to 39.9%.
