James “Jim” Garcia of Tooele, Utah, passed away peacefully at the age of 88, Nov. 22, 2024.

Jim was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Sheridan, Wyoming. Jim was one of six children born to Ben and Anna Garcia. He married Nita Young on Sept. 4, 1965, and became the stepfather to her four children.

He served in the US Navy and the Army National Guard. Jim loved the outdoors, the 49ers, WWE, and spending time with loved ones, especially his “little man” Connor. He was ordained as a Deacon in the Catholic Church and loved serving his community and God.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Joel Woodruff, and his sisters Gloria Liebert and Rosalee Laird.

He is survived by his wife Nita; his three children Cindy Woodruff, Sam (Candy) Woodruff, and Fred (Robyn) Woodruff; his siblings Bennie (Henry) Mascarenas, Patti (Eppie) Welch, and Richard Garcia. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

His services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, at St. Marguerite Catholic Church, 15 S. 7th St., Tooele, viewing at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 12 p.m. Please refer to tatemortuary.com for more information.

Jim lived his life to the fullest and we will miss him dearly!
