A fundraiser was held for a three-year-old boy who was recently in Primary Children’s Hospital with sepsis on Saturday, September 21.
The fundraiser, called the “Down But Not Out Ride N Rally,” was organized by the Tooele Downtown Alliance to benefit Taysen Baum, who is suffering from sepsis caused by a rare form of meningitis. Although Baum’s future is uncertain, the community came together to raise money for his surmounting medical costs, care, and recovery.
The fundraiser included a motorcycle ride through Stansbury, out to Delle, and back through Grantsville. Around 15 motorcyclists participated in the ride.
After the ride, the motorcyclists returned to Main Street Mobile Eats in Tooele where vendors and food trucks were set up.
“This little guy is a fighter,” said Tyson Hamilton, director of the Tooele Downtown Alliance. “He came out to the event for a little while, and the first thing he did when he saw the motorcycles was smile. He’s so full of love and life.”
The event also included giveaways and music.
