It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ed Padgen. Ed’s charming personality and infectious smile brought joy to everyone around him, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. He is survived by his daughter Sierra Whipple-Padgen, his sister Lisa Padgen, his brother Steven Padgen, and his mom Loya Padgen.
Ed was a free spirit who lived for the outdoors. The mountains and west desert were where he felt most at peace, and he would spend hours wandering around finding cool rocks and sharing interesting facts about the land and the people who lived there. A trip outside with Ed left you feeling connected and in-tune with nature; he had a way of turning the every day experiences into something remarkable.
Of course, a trip to the desert wouldn’t be complete without music, something Ed effortlessly supplied. Music was his love language- a constant presence in his life and something he shared with those close to him. He will be remembered surrounded by music, grooving his way though life.
Ed also had a knack for making people laugh and for creating. His quick and delightful wit lit up the room and transformed ordinary gatherings into unforgettable celebrations. His creativity was showcased in his intricate carvings and the works of art made with scavenged items. His eclectic home, with the door always opened, showcased both these talents.
Though Ed has left us, his spirit will live on through his family and in the laughter he created, the adventures he undertook, and the music he shared. He will be deeply missed, but his love will forever resonate in the lives he touched.
May your spirit climb the highest mountain and soar freely over the west desert, Ed. You will be missed.
