PUBLIC NOTICE

This is a public notice that on Friday October 11, 2024 the Utah Highway Patrol will be conducting an administrative checkpoint in the county of Tooele.  This checkpoint will utilize but not be limited to the Utah Highway Patrol and Tooele County Sheriff’s Office.  This checkpoint will be conducted on Interstate 80, in the area of mile post three, east and westbound traffic lanes.  According to law, a jurisdictional authorized plan will be available at the site of the administrative checkpoint, and will be maintained on file for one year.  You may obtain a copy of the plan at the Utah Highway Patrol office, located at 1929 N Aaron Drive, Suite #J., Tooele, Utah 84074.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Tooele County I-80 Block- The Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) has received interest in approximately 100  acres of property located off of Rowley Road in Tooele County, Utah. The property is located within Township 1 North Range 8 West, SLB&M: within the west half section 22.  Additional information is available on the Trust Lands website trustlands.utah.gov/work-with-us/real-estate-planning-development/

RE: TOOELE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION FOR $18,777.00 IN BJA, JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT FUNDING.

COMMENT:

The Bureau of Justice Assistance, Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Washington, D.C., has announced the eligibility of the Tooele City Police Department for $18,777.00 in Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Funds.  The Tooele City Police Chief intends to apply for this funding and utilize the monies awarded to purchase a drug detection canine to combat the rise of drug trafficking. There is no cash match of public monies required for this Award.

On September 3, 2024, an ordinance was passed which adopted an Impact Fee Facilities Plan and Impact Fee Analysis for Tooele County Parks, Fire, Public Safety, and Transportation as well as modified impact fees for said facilities.
