Stallions fall short at home, loses 28-20 to Ridgeline – Tooele Transcript Bulletin

Stansbury trailed throughout the entire game Friday night, dropping a 28-20 contest to the Ridgeline Riverhawks Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Stallions fell behind 14-0 in the final half of the second on a five-yard Ridgeline rushing touchdown and a 40-yard punt return score. Just before the half, Stansbury responded with a 37-yard touchdown pass off the arm of Coleman Dearden to cut the lead to 14-7. before the break.

The Riverhawks opened up the second half by regaining their two-touchdown lead in the opening four minutes of the third quarter to go ahead 21-7. A few possessions later, the Stallions managed to punch in another touchdown, with a two-yard rush by Tyson Ferry to narrow the lead to 21-14.

Stansbury kept things close heading into the fourth quarter, staying within striking distance until Ridgeline tacked on another touchdown with two minutes to go. Trailing 28-14, the Stallions managed to find the endzone again with about a minute remaining, but the score was too little, too late as the Riverhawks prevailed 28-20.
