Those who love baby animals or have children or grandchildren who do are in luck. The Clark Historic Farm will host their annual Barnyard Babies event this weekend.

The 11th annual event will be held Friday, May 3, from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the farm, located at 378 W. Clark Street. Admission to Barnyard Babies will be $7 per person ages four and older. Those under three will be admitted free.

“With all the fun activities available to families nowadays, the Clark Farm offers a uniquely nostalgic setting and old-fashioned fun,” Laurie Hurst, an organizer of the event, said. “Barnyard Babies is a fantastic activity for families or a special outing with grandparents, aunts, and uncles.”

This year, Grantsville local Ivie Acres Farm and Petting Zoo will be bringing goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turtles, and rabbits to the event, along with a donkey, camel, alpaca, mini horse, capybara, cavy, pig, and a mini cow. Pony rides will be available both days, and camel rides will be available on Saturday. The event will also include old-fashioned carnival games and bounce houses, according to Hurst.

On Friday, Hailee Broderick and Chelsea Bodell will be singing at 3 p.m. At 4 p.m., Josh Benson, a magician, will perform. Performances on Saturday will include musicians and dance groups, as well as Matt Price and his unified theater class from Excelsior Academy, who will perform a puppet show on Saturday at 2 p.m. A puppet workshop will also be held at 3 p.m.

The Barnyard Babies event was created as a way to celebrate spring and new animal life, according to Hurst. The event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year, held at the farm. The Clark Historic Farm is a nonprofit organization.
